Traveliving Book Review by OutdoorX4 Magazine

Traveliving is out for more than a year. Digital version was published in April 2017 & the hardcopy came a bit later, in December of the same year.

Talking about sales is a thing that always makes both author & publisher happy. No complaints about that in our case -even if we don’t have a publisher and we are not authors by profession but rather writers by heart. But what about real & unbiased reviews? How satisfied we are in this case? What people think about our book? But most important, what about people who come from the overland industry? What they have to say about Traveliving? How useful they find it for those who are looking for such a resource?

Frank Ledwell from the American OutdoorX4 Magazine kindly replied on our request & agreed to review our book. In their latest summer issue, Frank talked about our book, so read what he thinks:

“Traveliving is a word most contemporary adventurers have probably never heard. In fact, I had never heard it until Nikos Dimitriou reached out to me, asking me to look over his “romantic and practical guide” so titled. Once I had completed his book, not only had the term stuck but his reasons for putting the book together also sparked an intrigue many of us share as vehicle-based adventurers.

Traveliving is not so much a story of “traveling” as it is a resource for guiding those who are searching for reason from the mundane and who feel compelled to leave the comforts of daily life for a life fully lived while on the road. For Dimitriou, this meant breaking free from a career in Logistics and Operations Management in 2012 and hitting the road with his life partner, Georgia, on a quest to experience as much of the world as possible. His book provides real-life experience and guidance on considerations to make when choosing to live a life on the road; however, it’s done in a way that’s charming and educational without going into so much detail that it becomes overwhelming.

Dimitriou, who is Greek by birth, has now spent the past six years seeing the world, having traveled through 45 countries at the time of publication, guided by the following traveliving manifesto: “Live to Travel, not Travel to Live.” His perspectives are down to earth and whether you plan to leave your job and travel the world over or, like many of us, enjoy the freedom of several days in the backcountry, I’m confident you’ll not only enjoy Traveliving but may learn a thing or two about what makes vehicle-based adventure a worthwhile endeavor.

Visit to order your copy of Traveliving and to follow Nikos’ adventure.”

#TravelEating by Georgia

New Year, New Project, New Travel Pictures!

@TravelEatingByGeorgia is our new Instagram account but most important the next publication for this year. A tasteful blend of perpetual travel lifestyle and local food culture and a creative way to communicate all our culinary experiences from all around the world.

Having explained before the phrenitis of social media and their ephemeral power, we are aiming to use Instagram clearly as a sharing & engagement tool rather than a show-off machine with daily posts & thousands (paid) followers.

So, the next big thing is TRAVELEATING, our first travel cook book with local recipes as well as recipes for the camping that we will keep us busy for a while. Plus, we will contribute our knowledge, passion and yummy experiences to the vast community of travellers and food lovers 😉

Pre-orders in the form of crowdfunding will open soon. In the meantime, check our van-made travel recipes as well as local food pictures at @TravelEatingByGeorgia (no need to follow, JUST CHECK the pics!) and stay in touch 😉

Thank you all for being part of this trip.

Georgia & Nikos

How to pre-order the Traveliving hardcopy (a Crowdfunding guide)

We have received quite a few inquiries from friends & followers of the Pin Project who are not familiar with the Crowdfunding idea & practice. So, we created a short guide on how to pre-order our book through Indiegogo. It is 100% safe & easy.

  1. Visit our book campaign here: & maybe see the PROMO Video we made especially for this reason.
  2. Go through the story & practical aspects of the publishing project (which are super clear, honest & transparent if compared with other campaigns).
  3. At the right side of the page, there are several gifts/ rewards (Indiegogo calls them Perks). All gifts include the hardcopy PLUS more gifts like t-shirts, posters, postcards etc.
  4. Make your selection depending on how much you want to contribute.
  5. Put the mouse cursor on the “Perk” you want and click on it. The grey “ESTIMATED DECEMBER 2017″ will turn  to pink “GET THIS PERK“.
  6. Use your credit or debit card, fill up all the cells & finish the transaction. You just supported the campaign, pre-order the Traveliving hardcopy along with some other gifts for your friends & family.
  7. Alternatively, if you just want to contribute without getting anything, click on “BACK IT” & throw as much as you want.

Remember: This book has been created to help the travellers community with some practical advice, travel wisdom and infomation. By contributing to the campaign, you are part of this initiative.

The Pin Project goes to the Book Printing Shop

placeitOn the 19th of April, 2017, we proudly published our first book as an eBook and 37 people have already ordered it since then.

Now, we need one more push to print it & publish it as a hardcopy. For this reason, we have created a crowdfunding campaign in Indiegogo.

Crowdfunding is a popular practice not only to fund a creative project but also to purchase some exceptional stuff simply by contributing and pre-ordering the final product.

placeitWhat makes traveliving | a romantic & practical guide exceptional is the fact that it is the first self-published book of its kind that has been created on the road by actual travellers. It is a reading full of real life stories, secrets, fears, doubts and lots of practicalities about all you need to know before, during and even after a long-time trip around the world.

Please visit our campaign in Indiegogo platform, have a look, contribute -if you feel like- and spread the word!

While traveliving non-stop the last 5 years, we have NO Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest & other social media platforms to promote, advertise, or share our trip.

With full consciousness, we have decided to stay away of the social media buzz knowing that it severely limits our exposure. Instead, we try to spread the word by utilizing more traditional -even old school or paleolithic- methods of communication like sharing it in travel forums, sending newsletters to friends & followers etc. Why? Because we are romantic & we think different.

However, we much appreciate the strength of social media as a business tool in modern economy and we would like to encourage you to share the Pin Project campaign in every possible way.

More specifically:

  • Email this campaign to fellow travellers and romantic people you may know who are dreaming to travel around the world
  • Share on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & other social platforms
  • Subscribe in our regular Traveliving Series & Collections Newsletter
  • Just say Hello! We want to hear your thoughts, really! Drop us an email, leave a comment, create some buzz 😉
  • Share, share, share (please share)!

Thank you all for being part of our trip 😉

Best Regards

Nikos & Georgia
